![]() ![]() I am able to do this on a stupid fast Q, which can make it a pain to position correctly, a slower one should be easier. If there are multiple dams in the area, I always get the riskiest first, and then lead the aggroed beavers onto land, where they are slower and fly back to the next damn. However, on rare instances, if the Q gets hit and you are not in the right position, you can get tossed from your Q so remounting quickly is critical, and having your Q on follow is not a bad idea either. Click take all, turn and look down, remount your Q and fly off if you are over water, switch the camera angle so that it is under the Q and hit forward(which will make you go straight up), else you risk dismounting if you go descend even a bit.ĭo this right, and your Q will not even be touched, and more importantly, neither will you. If you positioned correctly, then, as you dismount, you will automatically open the dam. ![]() Note: You have to be low, so if you are over water, be careful or you dismount and fly upwards very annoying. If your Q has a regular saddle(edit: I can also do this with a platform saddle.been practicing), you can pull up directly over the dam (so that you character is standing directly over it) or next to it so that the dam is about where the wing meets the body(and your character is next to or just diagonally from it), turn the camera so you are looking at the dam(or where the dam should be), and dismount. Use fence foundations to snap dino gates to buildingsĮasy way(with a bit of practice) to farm dams with a Q. Park your fliers in a line, nose to tail, that way when the server resets and they all shuffle forward, you can just fly the one at the front to the back Once you've got your layout, build 1 pillar up to the required height and then work from it, you should be able to snap all the following topmost pillars to the same height, even if some of the floor clipping pillars are offset - even if that doesn't work perfectly but most of the pillars are the same height, you should still be able to get the ceilings aligned nicely. when you've gotten the step up/down you need should be able to fill in your missing spot. When building with pillars and you hit a spot where where you can't build, it's usually due to the height difference, try to squeeze another pillar below any nearby pillar (from a lower angle helps), or extend out and around to try and circle the spot with pillars, as you should be able to squeeze another pillar on top of or below one of those. This can also protect you from wild dinos.Īlways build pillars first and be mindful of their multiple snap points and weird angle placements Use pillars instead of foundations to build larger, flatter structures. ![]()
